PIANOБОЙ
The Ukrainian scene is rich in talented and stubborn people. They are able to impress the audience not only with songs, but also by playing musical instruments, dancing, shows and incredible, special energy. This is exactly what Dmitry Shurov and his solo project Pianoboy are.
The idea of creating a project arose in 2009. In the formation of his group, Dmitry stubbornly helped his sister Olga. We want to note that the creative path of Dmitry was, so to speak, high-quality, on a level. Before his solo career, the artist worked as a keyboard player in such significant groups as Ocean Elzy, Zemfira and Esthetic Education. And the framework of other people's projects seemed small for Dmitry’s creativity and in September 2009 Ukraine heard the first performance of Pianoboy. It happened at the Moloko Music Fest Independent Music Festival. By the way, the organizers of this festival were the leaders of Esthetic Education. Since that time, Dmitry’s group often speaks at discoveries and “warm-ups” of quite status events. Among them were the Lithuanian Lily screening, British Film Week in Ukraine, and the celebration of the birthday of Bazaar magazine in Kiev.
Two months later, the Ukrainians heard the first Pianoboy song called "Sense. Is Not." The whole team worked on creating a repertoire and on the eve of 2010 Dmitry Shurov's group has already played a full-fledged recital.
The beginning of the same 2010 was no less fruitful - the members of Piano took up the recording of their first album. At the same time, they begin an all-Ukrainian club tour.
For beginner groups, there is nothing better than working with well-known artists and groups. Dmitry Shurov also understood this. Therefore, in the winter of 2011, the song "Floors" is released. It was created and recorded with the Boombox. Since then, Music for Mass has been collaborating with Pianoboy. And the producer of the artists becomes Alexei Sogomonov. In general, 2011 turned out to be very fruitful for the guys, because it was then that the clips for the songs "Floors", "Leak", "Weekend" and "Witch" were released. The last song of the above even won and became the "opening of the year" award "Chart Dozen" radio station "Our Radio" in Russia.
Piano’s first album, Simple Things, is released in spring 2012 via Lavina Music, Ukraine’s largest music holding.
Further, the work of Pianoboy is gaining significant momentum and new studio albums of the project begin to emerge: “Do not stop dreaming” (September 2013) and “Take off” (December 2015).
In the latest Piano album, Dmitry Shurov himself explains that “Take Off” is a condition where a person concentrates on his best qualities in order to get off the ground. This requires a lot of effort and not always this attempt is successful. But if this is not done, then there will be no flight. And without a flight of inspiration, fantasy, love, life loses its meaning. Pianoboy and his entire team dedicate this album to everyone who seeks life ups and who are not afraid of falling. The album is filled with songs about freedom of choice and, of course, about love. We forget that with this right each of us appears on the world. And in general, sometimes you need to go through a lot to understand who you really are and who you really need.
2015 - the popularity and love of the public for the work of Pianoboy was enough to go on an all-Ukrainian tour.
Since 2013, Piano has been the nominee for the Yuna Award to this project. The team even has several awards - the best song (2016) and the best duet (2016 and 2018).
